Euroclad commit to MCRMA training

MCRMA offer member company employees the chance to keep up to date with the latest requirements of legislation and industry standards with their training course.

Matt Purbick, Emmie Panagopoulos,(Both from the Technical Dept) Marc Blackie (External Sales)& Sophie Sheedy (Business Development)were lucky enough to attend the training course during October, which also involved practical exercises where they learnt how to use hand tools to cut and fix modern cladding systems.

They began with learning the study of the steel structure, which involved examining typical frames and understanding the importance of the interaction between cladding and steelwork. Along with this they discussed the advantages and disadvantages of different cladding systems and components. Emmie said that “The building performance aspect of the course was brilliant” stating that it covered thermal information such as u-values, acoustics and fire performance.

On the final day they were both given the task of installing a double skin wall systems, which included cutting a window opening and making and fixing weathering flashings to detailed junctions to include external corner, window sill, and jamb and head flashings. “As we are mainly based in an office environment, the MRCMA course was very beneficial as we were able to see the practical installation side of the building process”

During the last 12 months, 14 of our team have successfully completed the training course, we are currently scheduling for 2016 dates.
